Picnic & Paddle Policies

Please allow for extra time before your Picnic & Paddle reservation to choose your beverages and pick up your picnic from The Boathouse, sign waivers with Speed River Paddling, and go over any safety procedures necessary to ensure you have the best experience possible. We recommend showing up about 20 minutes prior to your reservation time.

If you wish to extend your paddling experience, any extra time will be charged an hourly fee due directly to Speed River Paddling. This is dependent on the availability of boats and left to the discretion of Speed River Paddling.

Please check out Speed River Paddling’s website for information concerning everything you may need to bring aboard the boats. For example, dress for the weather, bring water bottles (so you can choose a yummy drink from the Boathouse), use or bring sunscreen, a Bluetooth speaker, etc.

Cancellation Policy for Canoes

Cancellation by Customer:

Cancellations made 4 days before reservation are eligible for a full or partial refund on a case by case basis. Any cancellations made within 4 days of reservation are not eligible for a refund.
You may appeal this policy, however the management of SRP and The Boathouse reserve the right to refuse refunds at their discretion.

Cancellation by Host:

As each reservation is weather dependent due to the safety of the customer, cancellations may occur last minute. Speed River Paddling tracks the weather daily, and we will always try to give the customer as much notice as possible if the reservation must be cancelled due to inclement or dangerous weather conditions.

If the weather does impact your reservation, we will try our best to reschedule for a different date of your choosing, or offer a full or partial refund if rescheduling is not possible. If Speed River Paddling is closed, we can still provide the pre-selected meals as a TO GO order, or attempt to seat you at a table in the Tea Room depending on space and availability for that day.

If your Picnic and Paddle experience is rained out, we will try our best to make it up to you!

Rescheduling:

Something may intervene with you attending your reservation! Please allow us plenty of notice to reschedule your appointment. Ideally you can give us 4 days notice, but things happen, so please let us know as soon as possible. If you choose to reschedule, there will be no refund offered on your new reservation should you have to cancel that one.

Hopefully we can get you in as soon as possible, however, we have limited space for reservations for the Picnic & Paddle. We will always try our best to find a date that accommodates both parties.
